Ringbarking a giant tree in Gippsland. Many of the giant trees of the dense forests of Gippsland were ringbarked and their towering carcasses speckled the landscape for decades. The original photograph is held by the Traralgon and District Historical Society.

A very long Yellow Stringy Bark log being transported to Maryvale Paper Mill near Traralgon in Gippsland. The log, which is 110 ft, 18 in (33.5m) long, will be used as a crane.

Photo: The ada Tree
The Ada Tree in the forest north east of Poweltown, is probably over 300 years old. It stands 75m tall and is a broad 15 m in girth. It was located and named in 1986 by Werner and Joseph Marschalek. This image is not available for reproduction.
