1 of The Giant Trees of Victoria. This
book was produced by the Lands Department, the Public Library and the Exhibition
Commissioners for the Melbourne Centennial International Exhibition in 1888.
This Mountain Ash, located at Mt Monda near Fernshaw was 307 ft (92m) high
with a 22 ft 8 in girth (6.8m).

of Victoria. A Mountain Ash 227 ft (68m) high
with a 55 ft 7 in (16.7m) girth located in the Neerim Township Reserve in
West Gippsland. The top of the tree had broken off.

At 326 ft 1 in (98 m) high and with a 25 ft 7 in (7.7m) girth this was the
tallest tree found in 1888. This Mountain Ash was located on the spur of
Mt Baw Baw.

of Victoria. This Mountain Ash was 303 ft
6 in (91m) high with a girth of 25 ft 7 in (7.7m). It was located at Stony
Creek near Narbethong. Surveyor Cunningham measured each tree with the tools
of the time: theodolite and chain.

of Victoria. This Mountain Ash, known as "The
Baron" was located in Sassafras Gully in the Dandenong Ranges. The tree
was 219 ft 9 in (66m) high with a girth of 48 ft 6 in (14.5m).
