In the years immediately after the Second World War, the Department of Agriculture packed food parcels of cheese, fruit, meat, marmalade, honey and dripping. The parcels were sent to Britons who were still experiencing post war rationing. Australians wanting to send food parcels to Britain placed orders with the Department at the Royal Melbourne Show in 1946.
