      • (i) via step 3
If you have just completed step 3, you will currently be looking at the PS map page. The PS map page will have opened in a SEPARATE window to the PS home page - so, to get back to the PS home page you need to bring it's browser window to the front.

In the example above, the buttons have been circled in red. When you have a Planning Scheme open, if you click on the windows button for its home page, this will bring that window to the front.

      • (ii) directly from step 2
If you have skipped step 3 (ie. you already knew what zones and overlays applied), then you will already be looking at the PS home page.

    • Find out if any other provisions in the Planning Scheme are relevant.
It is important to check whether there are any other provisions in the Planning Scheme (in addition to zone and overlay provisions) that may be relevant. You can do this by opening the other links in the Ordinance section (eg. links in the Local Planning Policy Framework drop list).

    • Obtain professional advice.
If you plan to take any action which may be affected by a Planning Scheme requirement, it is important to seek professional advice in order to accurately interpret Planning Scheme provisions.

You can obtain professional advice from either a council planner or a planning professional. Most councils have a webpage, so you can contact them via details listed there. If the Planning Scheme you are looking at does not have a link to its relevant council, go to DVC Victorian Local Governments page, where you can find a directory of council contact details.
