Pests and Diseases

Pets are susceptible to many diseases, and can transmit disease to humans. The DPI provides pet owners with advice on spotting the symptoms and knowing when to seek treatment.

Diseases our pets can pass onto humans are referred to as zoonoses. Worms, Ringworm and Toxoplasmosis, in particular, relate to our children, pet dogs and cats.
