Care and Welfare

Older dogAttitudes to the treatment of animals by humans have changed dramatically over time. In the 1600s, it was thought that animals couldn’t feel pain or pleasure! Thankfully, our improved knowledge about animals has since shown us that there are many similarities between humans and other animals.

We aim to provide individuals and industry with the skills and knowledge needed to best provide for the animals in their care.

It is our responsibility to care for animals whenever our activities impact on them. You can read about how animals think, whether they can be happy and some of the amazing things they can do. Problems such as animal cruelty, unwanted pets and emergency situations are also discussed.
