Socio-economic characteristics of Victoria’s forestry industries. Report prepared by the Fenner School of Environment and Society (Australian National University) , July 2010.

This report summarises the results of the Forest Industry Survey, a survey of employment and expenditure by the plantation and native forest industry in Victoria. It provides an up-to-date snapshot of the forestry industry, its workers, and its dependent communities.

This report identifies towns which are dependent on Victoria's plantation and native forest industries, and examines their level of sensitivity to potential change in these industries. The report makes a more detailed examination of the socio-economic links between the East Gippsland Forest Management Area, and the businesses and towns dependent on this particular forest resource.

The influence of remnant trees study investigates the effects of retained, isolated remnant trees in blue gum plantations on the diversity and abundance of birds.
