Eucalypt Plantations Growth Models Workbook

The Eucalypt Plantations Growth Models Workbook (EPGMW) is a Microsoft Excel workbook developed primarily for displaying and comparing the predictions of empirical (biometric) growth models developed for eucalypt plantations.

EPGMW version 2006.1 contains stand-level growth models (height, basal area and volume) for Eucalyptus globulus, E. nitens, E. viminalis and a grouping of E. botryoides, E. grandis, and E. saligna (Salignae series). These were developed using data from: (i) twelve species trials in Gippsland, Victoria, and (ii) three species and six E. globulus trials in the Mt Lofty Ranges and the South East of South Australia as originally incorporated in the Victorian Eucalypt Plantation Growth Model workbook.

EPGMW v. 2006.1 also contains newer stand models for E. globulus that are regionally explicit for Gippsland and Central Victoria, with size-class distribution functions for this species in these regions.

EPGMW v. 2006.1 can be downloaded from the School of Forest and Ecosystem Science, University of Melbourne.

Creation and maintenance of EPGMW is supported by the Victorian Department of Primary Industries (DPI). The development of the incorporated growth models was financially supported by DPI, the Victorian Department of Sustainability and Environment, the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation, and the Forest and Wood Products Research and Development Corporation, and with in-kind contributions of data from several companies.
