Pests, diseases and weeds
There are a range of pests, diseases and weeds that threaten the diversity and productivity of Victoria’s fisheries. To stop their spread, it is important that people are aware of their role and responsibilities.
There are restrictions on the possession and movement of noxious species. However, Noxious Aquatic Species permits can be obtained for specific activities.
If you believe you are eligible for a permit, contact the DPI Customer Service Centre on 136 186. If you suspect someone of keeping or selling noxious species, contact the fisheries offence reporting line on 13FISH (13 3474).
