We are responsible for the ecologically sustainable development of Victoria's fisheries. We create policies and set regulations for the way recreational fishers, commercial fishers and aquaculturalists use fisheries. Management of our fisheries protects fish stocks and ensures the development of their economic and social benefits.

We conduct research across Victoria to monitor fish stocks and fish habitat. We also promote the state's fisheries resources and industries, working with recreational fishers, industry and the broader community.
