Fisheries Victoria is the division of DPI responsible for the ecologically sustainable development of Victoria’s fisheries.

To enable this, we create policies and regulate the use of fisheries by aquaculturalists, recreational fishers and commercial fishers.

Our management protects fish stocks and ensures the development of the economic and social benefits from our fisheries.

We also conduct research across Victoria to monitor fish stocks and fish habitat, and promote the state’s fisheries resources and industries.
