New Brown Coal Funding

We are currently seeking proposals to develop pre-commercial demonstration scale, coal upgrading processes for raw lignite, with a grant of A$90 million available, jointly funded by the Australian Government and Victorian State Government.

ETIS funding model

Since 2005, the Victorian Government has provided more than A$430 million for research and development, pilot scale and pre-commercial demonstration projects, to drive advances in low emission technologies, through the Energy Technology Innovation Strategy (ETIS).

Funding is provided through a competitive grant tender process, with applications assessed by Independent Assessment Panels including Australian and international commercial and technology experts.
