This Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) was prepared to fulfil the requirements of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1994, and to facilitate public consultation on the setting of a VEET scheme target for the period 2012-2014 and expansion of the VEET scheme (given effect by the proposed Regulations).
This RIS has been prepared for the Department of Primary Industries by PricewaterhouseCoopers. Energy market modelling was prepared by ACIL Tasman for the Department of Primary Industries.

An Issues Paper on the expansion of the scheme was released in October 2010. Submissions to the Issues Paper have now closed.
* Errata notice: In Table 3 on page 7 and Table 26 on page 58 the "Total Costs" for "Option 3" (7% NPV) were incorrectly stated as 1,4251.5. It has been corrected to 887.4. The errata resulted from a transcription error in publication which has no consequential impacts on the analysis.
