Licences, Work Authorities and Work Plan approvals
The Earth Resources Regulation Branch is responsible for:
- tenement administration
- regulation of work sites for environmental management
You must have the appropriate authorisation before you conduct the following:
- Mineral exploration
- Mining
- Extractive Industry
You may fossick for minerals without holding a tenement (that is, without exclusive rights to the land) if you hold a Miner's Right.
Native Title: Compliance with the Commonwealth Native Title Act 1993 is required before a tenement can be issued over crown land that is affected by native title.
