Technology in the Coal Industry

The Government is aiming to build a new future for the coal industry in the Latrobe Valley. It has attracted potentially massive new investment such as the Monash Energy proposal and encouraged existing and new companies to invest in a low emissions coal future.

Through the Energy Technology Innovation Strategy (ETIS), the Government is assisting in the development of new low emissions coal technologies. These developments have the potential to lay the foundations for zero emissions cities of the future.
