GeoScience Victoria

Our Mission

To collect, enhance and provide geoscientific information to increase investment in and understanding of minerals and petroleum resources for the benefit of all Victorians.

Objectives

  • To attract new minerals and petroleum explorers to Victoria
  • Promote Victoria as the place for minerals and petroleum investment
  • Undertake custodianship of geoscientific information as a valuable and current asset
  • Ensure global access to geoscientific information
  • Ensure that government is informed of the extent and value of the resources to Victoria

GeoScience Victoria was formed in February 2004 following the amalgamation of the Geological Survey of Victoria and the Petroleum Branch.
