For all Commercial Harvesting in State Forests in Victoria
These Timber Harvesting Operator's Procedures set out the environmental and operational requirements which must be followed for all commercial harvesting in Victorian State forests and on other public land in Victoria where they are capable of applying.
Every Contractor and Licensed Forest Operator engaged in commercial harvesting must comply with these Procedures.
The Code of Practice for Timber Production establishes goals for environmental care for all commercial timber production activities in the State and provides guidelines for the achievement of these goals. To assist in the achievement of these goals, the Code provides for the preparation of Regional Prescriptions for public land, to provide for consistent implementation of environmental standards in all operational aspects of commercial harvesting for timber products in native forests at the Forest Management Area level.
