A downloadable version of the former Land Conservation Council's final recommendations for the South Gippsland District 1 Area (October 1973) (external link) are available for download from the Victorian Environmental Assessment Council's website. These provide an ongoing framework for public use of land in the South Gippsland District 1 Area. The recommendations are grouped by blocks of public land. Key recommendations are for Holey Plains, Stradbroke, Callignee, Toongabbie and Denison and Gippsland Lakes. The recommendations in the text have been edited to reflect government variations and amendments at the time of approval, and subsequent changes.

Key recommendations are for Wilsons Promontory National Park, Venus Bay - Waratah Bay Coastal Park, Wilsons Promontory Marine Reserve, Corner Inlet Marine and Wildlife Reserve and Nooramunga Marine and Wildlife Reserve.
