Habitat:
Common in semi-arid and arid ranges of Southern Tunisia, Southern Algeria and the Middle East. Grows in calcareous soils and general habitat is dune massifs, ergs and wadis (El Bahri et al 1999). Found in Mediterranean grasslands, Sahara grasslands and Sahara desert (ILDIS 2005). Invades nutrient-poor to fertile, well drained soils (CRC for Australian Weed Management 2003).
