Common Name:

athel pine, tamarisk

Status:

Restricted Weed in the Mallee, North Central, Wimmera, Glenelg-Hopkins, Corangamite, Port Phillip & Westernport (East and West), Goulburn Broken, North East, West Gippsland and East Gippsland CMAs. Listed as a weed of national significance (WoNS).

Habitat:

Semi-arid to arid warm-temperate or subtropical regions, preferably in full sun and on light to medium loams. (Parsons & Cuthbertson 2001). Disturbed and undisturbed streams, waterways, bottomlands, banks and drainage channels, moist rangelands and pastures. (PAC 2005).
