Habitat:

A grass-like herb native to the Cape region of South Africa. It is more commonly found on damp flats (Bond & Goldblatt 1984), particularly from Maitland to Kenilworth east of Cape Town (Adamson & Salter 1950). Considered an occasional species. In Victoria it is known only in one location in a municipal reserve in Melbourne growing on a steep seasonally moist hill slope (Stajsic & Albrecht 1992).
