Not declared noxious in Victoria.

Habitat:

Can invade coastal woodland, grassland, heathland, forests and riparian vegetation, as well as disturbed areas, roadsides and weak pasture (Blood 2001; Muyt 2001 and Weber 2003). In California it has invaded damp heaths and wetlands (Picart 1998). In New Zealand, its one of the limiting factors of the plant increasing its range to higher altitudes was frosts limiting new vegetative growth (Mather & Williams 1990).
