Common name:

Spiny burr grass, innocent weed, gentle annie.

Status:

Regionally Prohibited
in the Glenelg-Hopkins and Port Phillip & Westernport (East and West) CMAs.
Regionally Controlled in the Mallee, North Central, Wimmera, Goulburn Broken and North East CMAs.
Restricted in the Corangamite, West Gippsland and East Gippsland CMAs.

Habitat:

Temperate subhumid and semi-arid regions where it grows well on low-fertility, sandy soils establishing readily on disturbed sites in the 250 to 500 mm annual rainfall belt. It infests neglected areas and summer crops.
