Habitat:

A widely planted ornamental that predominantly occurs in cooler districts where annual rainfall exceeds 700 mm (Muyt 2001). Plants establish in seasonally moist, shaded or sunny positions, and are extremely tolerant of deep shade (Muyt 2001). English ivy is a weed of gardens, roadsides and pine plantations (Blood 2001). English ivy invades dry sclerophyll forest and woodland, damp sclerophyll forest, wet sclerophyll forest, riparian vegetation, rock outcrop vegetation, and warm temperate rainforest (Carr
et al 1992).
