Status: Regionally Prohibited - purple-flower - in the Port Phillip & Westernport (East & West) CMA.
Regionally Controlled - purple-flower - in the Glenelg-Hopkins, Goulburn Broken and North East CMAs.
Restricted - purple-flower - in the Mallee, North Central, Wimmera, Corangamite, West Gippsland and East Gippsland CMAs.

Habitat: Subhumid to humid, temperate to tropical regions mainly on highly fertile soils (Parsons and Cuthbertson 1992). It is a weed of disturbed sites on roadsides, riverflats and cultivated fallows (Parsons and Cuthbertson 1992).
