3D Object Library: Home | Vegetation | Animals | Built Structures | Rural Landscape

The 3D Object Library is a free resource for downloading objects developed by the Department in collaboration with RMIT University and University of Melbourne. The 3D objects can be used to create virtual worlds and landscape visualisation products The files are provided in a number of formats. File formats supported to date include: .GIF,.WRL, .3DS. To date there are more than 50 3D objects that can be downloaded and viewed in 3D modelling packages such as Autodesk's 3D Studio Max and Bitmanagement's BS Contact. All objects are made available free of charge but with no warranty.

The following clip are examples of the type and quality of objects that are available. These videos should display directly in your browser if this does not happen you need to update the 'Adobe Flash Player'. This is can be downloaded for free from the Adobe website (external link).

Also, we would welcome receiving notification or links to visualisation models you may have developed using any of these objects.
