The Werribee Catchment Action Plan (CAP) has been developed by the Werribee Catchment Implementation Committee (CIC) (external link) .

It will be used to promote partnerships in the catchment and to guide the development of annual works programs by agencies, local government, community groups and other stakeholders by identifying priorities for local action including on-ground works.

The CAP has been based on the priority natural resource management needs of the catchment:
· Invasive plant and animal control
· Waterway management and flood protection
· Water quality protection
· Integrated land management
· Native vegetation and habitat protection
