McCallum Creek water supply catchment is situated about 25 km south-west of Maryborough within the Ballarat study area and the North Central Study area of the Land Conservation Council as shown on the "Report on the Evansford and Talbot Reservoirs Water Supply Catchment (McCallum Creek Water Supply Catchment) - Proposal for Proclamation" prepared by I Master of the former Soil Conservation Authority, in 1982.
