Development Opportunities in Agriculture

There is significant potential to further develop the North East region’s natural resources in a sustainable manner. Specific agricultural industries that would lend themselves to such development include:

• Intensive horticulture, including wine and grape production
• New and emerging industries, such as peppermint oil crops
• Quality assured production of export and domestic market food
• Agribusiness development
