![]() Corangamite Water Authorities | Rural water infrastructure in Corangamite is owned and operated by Southern Rural Water (external link). Southern Rural Water (SRW) is a statutory rural water authority established under the provisions of the Water Act 1989 and is responsible for rural water supply across the entire southern part of Victoria, from the Great Divide to the coast. It's customers are mainly the farmers, graziers and growers of southern Victoria, but they also supply water in bulk to non-metropolitan urban water authorities. Barwon Water (Barwon Region Water Authority) (external link) is the largest regional urban water authority in Victoria and provides water and sewerage services to a permanent population of almost 250 000. The authority's area of responsibility covers more than 8,100 square kilometres, stretching from Little River and the Bellarine Peninsula in the east to Colac in the west, and from Meredith and Cressy in the north to Apollo Bay on the south-west coast. The service area incorporates the City of Greater Geelong, the Borough of Queenscliffe, Surf Coast and Colac/Otway shires and parts of Golden Plains Shire. The authority manages ten major water storages, ten water treatment plants and nine sewage treatment facilities. |
