Stage 2 EMS Environmental Farm Plan and Self Assessment

EMS in Victorian Agriculture

A staged approach to EMS explained

An explanation of the four staged approach can be found within the first attached file below, 'Introduction to EMS'.

How to use the Stage 2 EMS - Environmental Farm Plan

The PDF file attachments below are all the sections of the Stage 2 EMS- Environmental Farm Plan and can be viewed and printed out separately. The intention of these files is that they can be worked through section by section, in concurrent order, section 1 through to section 7. Appendices A and B can be viewed at any time.

Self-Assessment Workbook
Two additional Self-Assessment Workbooks are attached following the Environmental Farm Plan. They are the Avon River Basin (WA) Self-Assessment Workbook and the Eyre Peninsula (SA) Self-Assessment Workbook.

If you live in an area other than South Eastern Australia, you may like to consider using one of these workbooks in place of the Self-Assessment Workbook in Section 2 of the Stage 2 EMS- Environmental Farm Plan. Both the Avon River Basin (WA) Self-Assessment Workbook and the Eyre Peninsula (SA) Self-Assessment Workbook have been adapted by scientists local to the area, to make them most appropriate for farming situations in these areas.

For example:
If you are a producer residing in the Eyre Peninsula or your environment is similar to the Eyre Peninsula’s, you would use the Eyre Peninsula (SA) Self-Assessment Workbook, instead of the South Eastern Australia- Self-Assessment Workbook which is in Section 2 of the Stage 2 EMS- Environmental Farm Plan. After completing the appropriate version of the Self-Assessment Workbook, you would then continue on to Section 3 in the Stage 2 EMS- Environmental Farm Plan.
