The Minerals and Petroleum Division (M&P) is responsible for the promotion and regulation of the extractive, oil and gas, pipelines, geothermal energy, minerals exploration and mining industries in Victoria. Industry specific facilitation and development marketing services are provided, along with the maintenance of the State's historical geological database and the development of the additional state-of-the-art regional geological data.

M&P maintains an efficient licensing and permitting administration system to provide secure title for exploration, production and pipeline activities. We also ensure that industry health, safety and environmental management standards meet community needs.
