Family Fishing Events

If you or someone you know would like to try fishing, (even if you have fished before), bring your family along to one of our free Premier Lake Family Fishing events. Workshops and activities throughout the day will provide excitement, fun and give you all of the skills and information that are required to start fishing. Family Fishing Events in 2008 In 2008, Lake Hyland (Churchill) and Jubilee Lake (Daylesford) have been added to the events schedule. Dates for Family Fishing Festivals in 2008 are: April 19 - Lake Hyland (Churchill) May 17 - Eildon Pondage (Eildon) August 10 - Kennington Reservoir (Bendigo) September 20 - Lillydale Lake (Lilydale) October 18 - Jubilee Lake (Daylesford) Dates for additional Family Fishing Days at the five Premier Lakes will be announced during the year. The five Premier Lakes will all be stocked in 2008 with rainbow trout, including 'Premier' sized fish (>1 kg) offering families some exciting fishing opportunities. Each of these Premier Lake locations will host one minor and one major event per year. The Family Fishing Days (minor) will offer instructed fishing clinics as well as other workshops designed to teach various fishing skills. The Family Fishing Festivals (major) will offer similar activities with the addition of a range of displays, stalls, attractions and non-fishing activities to cater for the whole family. Go Fishing 2008 days (PDF 392kb) Kennington Reservoir Family Fishing Festival The next event will be a Family Fishing Festival at Kennington Reservoir on Sunday 10 August. Please see the flyer attached below for details of activities that will be offered on the day. Call 136 186 to pre-register for this event. Limited workshop places available.
