Horticulture

The horticulture industry in Australia is valued at $3.5 billion and in Victoria is worth $1.3 billion per annum. Horticulture in Victoria supports 8,500 enterprises employing 50,000 people full-time and up to 100,000 during harvest periods. Farm Services Victoria (FSV), Horticulture and Forestry is focussed on partnering with other service providers where there is a shared benefit and co-investment. The key aim for the team is to assist DPI deliver its target to double horticulture and farm forestry productivity growth by 2020 and grow the adaptive capacity of the industry.

More recently the Horticulture Industry Network (HIN) has been established to increase industry collaboration and the rate of practice change within horticulture and farm forestry communities. These networks extend the reach of services and increase the resources available to deliver key outcomes.
