Bestwool2010The BESTWOOL 2010 Project is a unique and innovative approach to assist Victorian wool producers lift their on-farm productivity and profitability, environment and social capacity.

Breedplan (external link) A beef cattle genetic evaluation system covering a wide range of traits including birth weight, calving ease, growth, milking ability, fertility and carcase information.
CattleCare (external link)CattleCare are a series of checks made by the producers during the many stages of livestock production.
EDGE Network (extezrnal link)EDGE network is a joint project of Meat and Livestock Australia and DPI (Victoria) which aims to build a positive future for farm families by expanding expertise, learning new skills, being motivated by other producers and accessing new information to make decisions confidently. The program is presented to a group, each group selecting segments most suited to their needs. Areas covered include livestock, pasture and feed, finance, marketing, business development and developing people skills.
FarmBis (external link)FarmBis is a national program that provides funding to assist primary producers, land managers, and Indigenous land owners/managers to undertake full cost training.

Lambplan (external link)LAMBPLAN is Australia's system for describing genetic worth of animals used in sheepmeat sheep industry.
Landcare (external link)Landcare groups work to address problems of - 1. Land degradation (soil erosion, salinity, soil acidification, nutrient leaching and soil compaction), 2. Weed infestations, 3. Pest animals (such as: rabbits, foxes), 4. Declining vegetation cover, and 5. Damage to water courses, especially rivers and streams.

LEAP (external link)The Livestock Export Accreditation Programme (LEAP) is an industry based quality assurance scheme initiated by the Australian Livestock Exporters Council (ALEC), and operated by LiveCorp.
Dairy Extension CentreThe Dairy Extension Centre is an industry-driven statewide dairy industry development project catering to the needs of dairy farmers in Victoria.

Training Courses

Whole Farm Planning - Benalla
Whole farm planning is a nationally accredited course that provides landholders with the confidence and knowledge to make informed decisions about their property. Topics covered include: landclassing, farm water supply, soils, pest plant and animals, biodiversity and fire management. The course cost includes an aerial photography of your property, all course materials, a program, times and locations determined by course participants and much more.
