Extended Mallee and Mid-Murray Agricultural Chemical Control Area

The boundaries of the Mallee and Mid-Murray Agricultural Chemical Control Area (ACCA) were extended in February 2006 (see maps and descriptions of the area below).

The chemical use restrictions that apply in the Extended Mallee ACCA are different to those in the Mallee and Mid-Murray ACCA, which have not changed. The restrictions for both areas are in force from 1 August each year until 30 April of the following year.

Extended Mallee and Mallee Mid Murray ACCA

Description of Area

Mallee and Mid-Murray Agricultural Chemical Control Area is all that area that includes -

The Parishes of Annuello, Bael Bael, Benetook, Benjeroop, Boga, Brockie, Burra, Cantala, Carwarp, Castle Donington, Colignan, Coonimur, Dartagook, Gayfield, Karadoc, Konardin, Kulkyne, Kunat Kunat, Margooya, Merbein, Mildura, Murrabit, Murrabit West, Narrung, Nenandie, Pental Island, Piambie, Piangil, Toltol, Tyntynder, Tyntynder North, Tyntynder West, Umbang, Wargan, Woorinen, Yatpool, Yelta, Yelwell, Yungera; and

That part of the Parish of Carwarp West east of Calder Highway; that part of the Parish of Ginquam north of Carwarp North West Angle Road; that part of the Parish of Koorkab east of Boundary Bend - Kooloonong Road & north of the road from the former Township of Koorkab to Piambie; that part of the Parish of Liparoo north of Hattah - Robinvale Road; that part of the Parish of Mournpoul east of Calder Highway & north of Hattah - Robinvale Road; that part of the Parish of Nurnurnemal east of Calder Highway and that part of the Parish of Wemen north of Wemen - Annuello Road.

The Extended Mallee Agricultural Chemical Control Area is the area of land bounded by the Murray River, the South Australia- Victoria border and a line commencing at a point where Griggs Rd intersects with the Murray River at Koondrook, then along Griggs Road to the Kerang- Koondrook Road, then in a westerly direction along the Kerang-Koondrook Road to its intersection with the Murray Valley Highway, then along the Murray Valley Highway to its intersection with the Kerang – Quambatook Road, then along the Kerang – Quambatook Road to the township of Quambatook, then north along the Quambatook- Swan Hill Road to its intersection with the Dumosa – Quambatook Road, then along the Dumosa – Quambatook Road to its intersection with the Donald – Swan Hill Road, then in a south-westerly direction along the Donald – Swan Hill Road to its intersection with the Calder Highway, then in a northerly direction along the Calder Highway to its intersection with the Mallee Highway, then in a westerly direction along the Mallee Highway to its intersection with the Meridian Road at Walpeup, then in a northerly direction along the Meridian Road to parish of Wymlet, then along the western boundaries of the parishes of Wymlet, Bitternang, Carool and Raak to Carwarp Road, then west along Carwarp Road to its intersection with Yarrara South Road, then north along Yarrara South Road and Yarrara North Road to the intersection with the Sturt Highway, then west along the Sturt Highway to the point where South Australia borders Victoria.
