White blister is a plant disease that affects brassica crops and is caused by the fungus Albugo candida. Consumers are not at risk, as the fungus only affects the growth and appearance of brassica plants.
The Queensland Department of Primary Industries (QDPI) has restricted the movement of brassica plant material from the southern states. QDPI sees these restrictions as necessary to minimise the risk of the spread of the disease into their brassica production areas.
