Driving Investment in Renewable Energy

During the development of the Victorian Renewable Energy Target scheme a half-day consultation forum was held on 14 December 2005 to present the Government’s renewable energy policy objectives, canvass key issues and options for a market-based scheme to deliver the Government’s renewable energy targets, and to ensure stakeholders were aware of how they could participate in the process.

The VRET scheme was announced (external link) on 17 July 2006, and the accompanying legislation, the Victorian Renewable Energy Act 2006 (external link), received Royal Assent and became an Act of Parliament on 19 September 2006.
