2008-09 Victorian State Budget DPI features prominently in this year’s State Budget, which delivers on key State Government commitments and several DPI initiatives, including the Future Farming strategy and investment in clean coal and renewable energy technologies. Over the next four years, the Victorian Government will invest $224.23 million in new initiatives and more than $11.71 million in asset projects. It builds on DPI's objective of enabling transformation in Victoria's primary and energy industries to sustainably increase wealth and wellbeing, while protecting and enhancing safety, community, animal welfare and environment. Future Farming The Future Farming strategy will invest $205 million over four years across seven broad Action Areas to build a strong and secure future for the farming sector. The Action Areas are:
