Locust Insecticide Rebate Scheme
Applications for the Locust Insecticide Rebate have now closed. Read more in the following Frequently Asked Questions.
I didn’t get my form in on time, who can I speak to?
There will be no extensions for applicants who do not get their rebate application forms to DPI on time (before 30 June 2011).
You might consider contacting the Australian Tax Office, or your accountant, to see if you are eligible to claim the cost of chemicals used to spray locusts as part of your regular income tax.
Will there be any financial support available post June 2011?
It is not expected that the number of locusts in Victoria will exceed what is experienced in a normal year.
Any future financial support towards treating locusts in Victoria will be dependant on the scale of the situation and the governments response to that situation.

More information about locust management and biology can be found in the Frequently Asked Questions or through the DPI Locust Hotline 1300 135 559.
