LPAI Information: Properties in Control & Restricted Areas
Summary of movement restrictions within the Control Area (CA)
The following movements are prohibited (unless the movement is in accordance with a permit issued by an inspector):
- Live poultry* and dead birds into and out of the CA
- Movement of dead birds within the CA (other than diseased carcasses from processing plants licensed by PrimeSafe)
- Movement of live poultry* within the CA
- Fertile eggs out of the CA
- Table eggs out of the CA
- Uncooked egg products from poultry including fresh shell, frozen product and egg pulp out of the CA
- Fresh, frozen or uncooked poultry or poultry products (including waste) out of the CA
- Poultry litter and manure out of the CA
- Birds kept in an aviary or cage or as pets out of the CA
- Any vehicle that has come into contact with poultry, poultry products, fodder, fittings or equipment on a premises in the CA must be disinfected before leaving the premises unless a permit is issued by an inspector allows the vehicle to leave the premises without being disinfected
- Protective clothing and footwear that has come into contact with poultry or poultry products (including waste) at a poultry processing plant or other premises in the CA must not be moved from the poultry processing plant or premises unless it is first washed or disinfected or unless the movement is in accordance with a permit issued by an inspector
- The holding of shows, exhibitions, markets, auctions, races involving birds or poultry in the CA are prohibited unless in accordance with a permit issued by an inspector

The following movements are prohibited (unless the movement is in accordance with a permit issued by an inspector):
- Live poultry, fertile eggs from live poultry and dead birds into, out of and within the RA
- Movement of dead birds within the CA (other than diseased carcasses from processing plants licensed by PrimeSafe)
- Poultry litter or manure out of or within the RA
- Fodder, fittings or equipment out of or within the RA
- Table eggs out of the RA
- Uncooked egg products from poultry including fresh shell, frozen product and egg pulp out of the RA
- Fresh, frozen or uncooked poultry or poultry products (including waste) out of the RA
- Birds kept in an aviary or cage or as pets out of the RA
- Any vehicle that has come into contact with poultry, poultry products, fodder, fittings or equipment on premises in the RA must be disinfected before leaving the premises unless a permit is issued by an inspector allows the vehicle to leave the premises without being disinfected
- Protective clothing and footwear that has come into contact with poultry or poultry products (including waste) at a poultry processing plant or other premises in the RA must not be moved from the poultry processing plant or premises unless it is first washed or disinfected or unless the movement is in accordance with a permit issued by an inspector

* Live poultry does not include:
- Live poultry consigned to a poultry processing plant for slaughter within 24 hours after delivery
- Live poultry that are day old chickens (provided…):
- the live poultry are consigned to a premises within the CA area
- live poultry (being day old chicks and ducklings) were hatched in commercial incubators
- the live poultry are healthy and not from a quarantined premises or from a suspect property
- any vehicle or equipment used in the transportation of the poultry is cleaned and disinfected before leaving the premises to which the poultry are delivered
