Agricultural Chemical Control Areas
Nine Agricultural Chemical Control Areas (ACCA) have been established in Victoria to protect high value herbicide sensitive crops.
Within these areas restrictions apply to the types of herbicides, their method of application and the periods in which certain chemicals can be used.
To check if the location you intend to spray is within an ACCA, refer to the map below. Each ACCA is identified in the map by a purple or green shaded area. Click on the shaded area or follow the links for information about each ACCA, including detailed maps, area boundaries and chemical restrictions.

Application for an Agricultural Chemical Control Area (ACCA) permit
Notes
To determine if a chemical product contains any of these prohibited chemicals, please read the chemical's label and accompanying information sheet or search the APVMA PUBCRIS website.
*An ACCA permit is different to an Agricultural Chemical User Permit (ACUP).
Mister definition: spraying equipment that uses air for dispersing the spray and includes mist blowers, orchard sprayers, air blast sprayers, air shear sprayers and any other spraying equipment that produces a droplet size spectrum that is classified as fine or very fine under ASAE S572 FEB04, Spray Nozzle Classification by Droplet Spectra, but does not include air assisted boom sprayers or twin fluid nozzle sprayers.
Remember
All users of agricultural and veterinary chemicals, including ACUP holders, are required to keep specified records for all chemical products used within 48 hours of using the chemical product, and to keep these records for a period of two years.
