Managing Dryland Lucerne - Grower's Handbook

Lucerne has often been regarded as a difficult plant to grow and manage. This is not necessarily the case. Lucerne does have some fairly specific requirements, as do most of the plants and animals we farm. Anyone who has a reasonably suitable site and can manage other crops and pastures successfully should be able to grow lucerne. Like most things, it is quite straight-forward once you know how!

The information in this kit is based on widespread practical experience from Wimmera farmers, supported by research and science, and demonstrates that lucerne can be grown successfully in all parts of the Wimmera Region, even in marginal or unlikely sites.

The main requirement is to get to know the plant and your site and have a go!
