Wage Increase for Dairy Workers
Dairy managers are reminded that they may need to increase wages for workers, following Fair Work Australia's wage review and pay increases which apply from 1 July 2011.
Dr Pauline Brightling who manages The People in Dairy program for Dairy Australia said the new wage rates become operative from the first full pay period on or after 1 July.
The minimum wage for each classification in the Pastoral Award 2010 has increased by 3.4 per cent each week. The 2011-12 pay rates and transitional rates for dairy employees are available on The People in Dairy website. Go to the home page www.thepeopleindairy.org.au and follow the links from the 'what's new' item.
