Rural Financial Counsellors: Helping farmers manage change
The Rural Financial Counselling Service works with farming businesses to assist them adjust to agricultural change. The service in northern Victoria is a unique one in that it not only helps primary producers experiencing severe financial hardship but it also helps other eligible people who need support in making major decisions; connecting them with useful services and helping them access financial support from Centrelink and other government drought programs.
With the current milk price, Rural Financial Counsellors can provide any eligible farmer with the tools to make informed decisions.
Rural Financial Coulsellors can help farmers work through the issues they’ll face with the current milk price. They can help farm families assess and understand their financial position; prepare budgets and cash flows that are needed to identify options and then develop an action plan to move forward. This support can assist with loan and refinancing applications and provide support when negotiating with lenders.
This free service is impartial and independent of financial institutions, welfare agencies and government.
