Ministerial permits
The Planning Permit Application Register Online provides access to up-to-date information on the status of permit applications where the Minister for Planning is the Responsible Authority.
The Minister for Planning is the Responsible Authority for the Melbourne Planning Scheme where development is in excess of gross floor area 25,000m2, development and use of land for or on behalf of a Minister of the Crown, and for the Melbourne Showgrounds, Flemington Racecourse and a number of specific sites including the Melbourne Casino. The Minister for Planning is also the Responsible Authority and Planning Authority for the following:
- The Melbourne Docklands area
- Port of Melbourne Planning Scheme
- Port Phillip Planning Scheme (Beacon Cove – Comprehensive Development Zone)
- Central Dandenong, Kew Residential Services, Tooronga Village, Waverley Park
- Alpine Resorts Planning Scheme (Mt Hotham, Falls Creek, Mt Buller, Mt Stirling, Mt Baw Baw, & Lake Mountain).
- French Island and Sandstone Island
- Footscray Renewal Project Area (joint Responsible Authority with City of Maribyrnong)
- Education and Social Housing Projects funded through the Commonwealth Nation Building and Economic Stimulus Plan
