2009 Bushfires (including Black Saturday)
For the 2009 bushfires, the Victorian Government established the Victorian Bushfire Reconstruction and Recovery Authority (VBRRA). VBRRA is coordinating the Local, State and Commonwealth Governments reconstruction and recovery efforts in conjunction with the Department of Human Services.

BAER reports
BAER stands for Burned Area Emergency Response. The BAER reports are a rapid assessment of the fire and fire suppression impacts and will form the basis for immediate emergency rehabilitation actions and feed into long-term rehabilitation and recovery plans and actions. They do not replace the formal rehabilitation plan that is required under the Code of Practice for Fire Management on Public Land.
BAER reports were issued for the following fires:
- Beechworth - Library Road Fire
- Bunyip - Noojee Complex
- Churchill - Jeeralang Complex
- Delburn Fire
- East Tyers - Thomson Fire
- Kilmore East - Murrindindi Complex North
- Kilmore East - Murrindindi Complex South
- Cathedral Range Fire (Wilsons Promontory National Park)
