Firefighting Employment with DSE

  • Volunteer Firefighting DSE have access to approximately 1300 trained firefighters across Victoria. Most of these are DSE or Parks Victoria staff normally engaged in other duties such as park/forest rangers, work crew and office staff.

    During the fire season over 600 seasonal Project Firefighters are also employed. During a bushfire, these firefighters act in roles ranging from support staff to on-ground firefighters. DSE ensures that all its firefighters are adequately trained and have this competency recognised prior to their involvement in firefighting operations.
