Areas Affected by Fire
Maps on this page show the areas impacted by fires in January and February 2009. The maps are based on data available at the time. DSE is currently carrying out a detailed assessment of the areas burnt during the Murrindindi Complex fires and Wilsons Promontory fire. New maps will be produced after that assessment has been completed.

- These maps do not show the active fire front. Do not rely on these maps to make decisions about personal safety.

Maps are based on infrared scans during fires and are carried out by specialised aircraft.
Scans are not carried out for all fires. In bad weather conditions, it may not be possible to carry out scans.
