Various BushTender type projects have been completed since the BushTender Trials. Information on the following projects is on this page:

Southern Victoria BushTender project

A $500,000 Victorian Government BushTender project was conducted in selected parts of southern Victoria. This project was completed in 2006.

The Southern Victoria BushTender project was conducted across five Bioregions in southern Victoria, namely the Otway Plain, Otway Ranges and Warrnambool Plain and parts of the Gippsland Plain and Strzelecki Ranges Bioregions. These Bioregions occur in parts of the East Gippsland, West Gippsland, Corangamite and Glenelg-Hopkins Catchment Management Authority regions. Habitat Tender

Habitat Tender was a $1.3 million project conducted by the Wimmera Catchment Management Authority that used a BushTender-type approach to allocate landholder payments in return for actions that protected or improved habitat for the Red-tailed Black-Cockatoo, Buloke Grassy Woodlands and other biodiversity assets. The project was conducted in 2006.

Plains Tender

Plains Tender was a BushTender type project conducted by the Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (CCMA) in the Victorian Volcanic Plains Bioregion of Victoria, focussing on native grasslands and grassy woodlands. The project was completed in 2006.

EcoTender

The $500,000 EcoTender project conducted by the Department of Primary Industries (DPI) and Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE), used a tender-based system to allocate funds in a way that delivered multiple environmental benefits for landholders at both the local and catchment scale. This project was completed in 2005. This link will take you to further information on the EcoTender pilot project.

North East RiverTender

The North East Catchment Management Authority (NECMA) has conducted a trial of a BushTender-type project for landholders with river frontage or native vegetation adjoining the Ovens River. The Ovens River catchment was selected for the trial in recognition of its special status as a Heritage River.

Bush Returns

Bush Returns was a project implemented by the Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority (GBCMA) that trialled the use of a tender-based approach to achieve large-scale regeneration of native vegetation on private land. For further information visit the GBCMA website at www.gbcma.vic.gov.au.
