Port Philip and Westernport EcoTender 2008
The Port Phillip and Westernport EcoTender is the second of three EcoTender trial demonstrations being run by the Victorian Government. The first was in 2008 in conjunction with Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (CMA). The Port Philip and Westernport EcoTender was conducted in partnership with Bass Coast Landcare Network, Melbourne Water, Port Phillip & Westernport CMA and the Environmental Protection Authority Victoria. Approximately $1.5 million has been made available for on-ground works. Results from this EcoTender will be made public in the coming months.

Corangamite EcoTender 2008
The Corangamite EcoTender is the first of three demonstrations being delivered through the Victorian Government’s $14 million ecoMarkets initiative, aimed at improving Victoria’s overall landscape health and biodiversity. This EcoTender was conducted as a partnership between the Corangamite Catchment Management Authority and the DSE and was completed in late 2008. Approximately $1.1m was allocated to 33 landholders, securing the rejuvenation of 333 hectares of native vegetation during the next 5 years.

EcoTender Pilot – Avon Richardson 2006
EcoTender was first trialled by the Department of Primary Industry (DPI) and the DSE in the Avon-Richardson area in the North Central CMA and the Cornella area in the Goulburn Broken CMA region in 2005. $500,000 was distributed to successful EcoTender participants, funding on-ground environmental works on their properties over five years. Funding for the EcoTender pilot came from the National Market-Based Instruments Pilot Program.
Under the EcoTender pilot, landholders within the Avon Richardson catchment were invited to submit bids, based on an agreed management plan, to undertake native vegetation management and revegetation works on their properties. Successful landholders receive periodic payments for their management actions under agreements signed with the DSE.
The success of this pilot has been instrumental in the funding of three more EcoTender demonstrations as part of the ecoMarkets funding under the Our Environment, Our Future Sustainability Action Statement 2006.
